Blog: We’re Reaching Millions of Parents Online with #ItDoesntHaveToHurt
April 14th, 2016
We just hit the mid-point of our 12 month #ItDoesntHaveToHurt social media initiative and LOOK how far we have come. Thanks to our partnership with Erica Ehm’s YummyMummyClub.ca, in addition to creating some fun online content about children’s pain for parents (all based on research evidence), our #ItDoesntHaveToHurt content has reached millions of parents around the world online! The initiative has generated over 72 million impressions (i.e.., content views) so far! Check out our latest blog about the #ItDoesntHaveToHurt initiative for the Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres, one of our partners in this project
We held our first #ItDoesntHaveToHurt Twitter party on March 1st where parents, researchers, health professionals, and the team at YMC united online for a discussion about children’s pain. The Twitter party triggered more than 2,000 tweets about children’s pain that generated over 45 million impressions, reached over 5 million people, crashed a server, and trended in Canada – all in just ONE hour! You can link to a summary of highlights from the Twitter party below.
Links to our #ItDoesntHaveToHurt content published to date also appear below. We all have part to play in helping make sure research evidence about children’s pain gets to the parents who need it. You can help by simply clicking on the content links and sharing them over your social media networks!
Stay tuned for more great content in our 3rd quarter which will be launching on April 21st!
