Blog: Student article featured in Anesthesia & Analgesia

October 25th, 2012

An article written by members of the Centre for Pediatric Pain Research, recently published in Anesthesia and Analgesia, is getting some great attention. The project examines distraction as an intervention for children’s anxiety at anesthesia induction and was conducted as a Psychology 3000 project by Katherine Mifflin and supervised by Dr. Jill Chorney and Dr. Thomas Hackmann (Anesthesia). There was an editorial published accompanying the article, the article was featured on the journal’s facebook page and Dr. Chorney has received a call from a reporter who wants to feature the study in an upcoming article.

This is great evidence of the collaboration between the IWK and two Dalhousie departments (Psychology and Anesthesia). We look forward to continuing this work.
