November 4th, 2014

Dr. Margot Latimer, Associate Professor in the Dalhousie School of Nursing, and Julie Francis, Community Health Nurse in Eskasoni will be holding a public lecture as part of the Indigenous Perspectives of Health and Healing Class at the Unama’ki College, Cape Breton University.

Margot and Julie will be discussing their on-going community-based health research initiative examining the expression of pain among Aboriginal children. Using a combination of quantitative strategies and qualitative approaches to assessing pain, this research documents the cultural characteristics that define Aboriginal children’s pain experience.

Come and learn how their findings are changing the ways that Aboriginal children are admitted and treated in the health care system.

Join us for an exciting presentation, followed by a Q&A, on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Cape Breton University in the Verschuren Centre, CS 101.
